As part of the 2021 ‘Six fashion photographers’ exhibition, co-curated by Jo Duck + Jack Willet.
Inspired by Maeve Brennan’s 1962 short story for the New Yorker titled ‘A Mysterious Parade of Men’, Duck imagined a fictional parade and photographed the mysterious men who were either unenthused participants or spectators. The resulting portraits range from contractually-obliged half smiles, the completely over-it impatience of a Dad who is thinking about how much the parking will cost, to the overly passionate groupie of the costume-figures.
